Artist Statement

Landscape and Portraiture focus on different aspects of the same world. The first forgets the influence of people on the world and the second forgets that we are but one element in it. I explore our landscapes, remembering that people affect the topography and forces of the world in which they live, but only in a passing instance relevant to the span of time and space. This work documents our fleeting existence and pieces of the world with a realist’s sense of our place in it.
