BIOGRAPHY
I attended College for Fine Arts in Tucson, Arizona from 1968 – 1972. After not graduating, I went to Charles Morris Price School of Advertising and Journalism in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I received a diploma in Advertising and Journalism.
I also took an accelerated Photography course at the New York Institute of Photography and various Art and Film Making courses.
My career started as a Graphic Artist and Designer at an Advertising Agency in Waukegan, Illinois (Sorenson Design). I became an Assistant Art Director at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, Illinois in the early eighties. After moving to New York,
I began working at Rolling Stone Magazine in the late eighties, then as a Graphic Artist/Designer at other New York magazine’s including Manhattan Inc. Magazine. In the nineties I worked at Prudent Publishing Company in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, as a Marketing Specialist with Corporate card and master piece calendar design and print. I returned to New York as an Art Director and Photographer for Creamer Dickson Basford (Public Relations) before opening my own Advertising Agency and printing business in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 1998 called Brooks Graphics Inc.
Currently, I am a Realtor at Coldwell Banker in Hoboken and part of my Marketing besides making marketing material for print and the web, is “staging” my properties. My interest in staging grew to an interest in creating paintings or “staging art.” This proved to be so rewarding that I decided to resurrect the dormant artist in me and now I paint, collage and photograph, although it’s all very experimental: art, insanity or just confusion but I’m still having a wonderful life!
